It's hard to get European imports fresh, but luckily some local brewers are creating some traditional styles. Until my big continental beer trip this will be the main source for these.
There's been some solid research mixed in with the beer tasting. Of the two main guidelines in use, I find the ABA to be more current with their yearly updates, but the BJCP have some good history notes and style examples.
